EPA Administrator and U.S. Surgeon General speak to Lung Association

EPA Administrator Lisa P. JacksonU.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa P. Jackson and U.S. Surgeon General Regina M. Benjamin, M.D., spoke to the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association at their meeting on Tuesday, March 16. 

Administrator Jackson spoke of the misperception that during tough economic times, we can't afford to invest in improving air quality.  Her message was that smart environmental protection creates innovation and jobs. 

American Lung Association Board Chair Mary Partridge with U.S. Surgeon General Regina M. Benjamin, M.D.U.S. Surgeon General Regina Benjamin shared her family's personal struggle with lung disease and spoke of her commitment to help all patients with lung diseases.

Mary H. Partridge, National Lung Association Board Chair presented the Surgeon General with the association's latest report "State of Lung Disease in Diverse Communities."
