Make "Being a Rockstar Supporter" Your Re-New Year’s Resolution
(January 15, 2016)
Millions of Americans make New Year's resolutions each year, but as we get further away from January 1, those resolutions to hit the gym, start that diet or quit smoking start to fade away.
This January, make a Re-New Year's Resolution to help someone quit smoking for good this year. According to a U.S. national survey, an overwhelming majority of both smokers and non-smokers agree: quitting smoking is hard! But 80 percent of surveyed smokers trying to quit shared that support from friends, family, significant others and coworkers is very important when quitting.
That's why the American Lung Association and Pfizer developed Quitter's Circle for those looking to quit smoking, as well as their friends and family. This unique quit smoking initiative allows quitters and supporters to track a quit journey together, celebrate milestones and offer support in real time - when the quitter needs it the most. Supporters can also access articles and tips on how to support a quit attempt, what to say (and what not to say) to someone quitting smoking, and contribute to a Quit Fund.
