With the mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, the American Lung Association connects with communities through events to raise funds for critical research, advocacy and education. Today, the American Lung Association announced that Sunovion Pharmaceuticals will become a National Corporate Team Partner participating in several of our signature fundraising events nationwide.

As an official National Corporate Team Partner, Sunovion employees are eligible to participate in key American Lung Association events across the nation, including LUNG FORCE Walks, Fight For Air Climbs and Bike Treks.

“Sunovion shares with the American Lung Association a deep interest in respiratory health. The company has been a generous supporter of our mission, and we are so pleased to build on this historic partnership and welcome them as a National Corporate Team Partner,” said Harold P. Wimmer, National President and CEO of the American Lung Association. “Sunovion has consistently brought tremendous energy and enthusiasm to the Autumn Escape Bike Trek on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and other events the Company has supported.  We are proud to continue to partner with Sunovion and have their employees join other American Lung Association signature events across the nation while raising awareness for lung health.”

For the past four years, Sunovion has been an important supporter of the American Lung Association of the Northeast’s Autumn Escape Bike Trek, serving as the Presenting Sponsor of that event since 2012. On a national level, the company has been a significant supporter of American Lung Association Better Breathers Clubs, helping to support the development of educational resources for those living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Sunovion also serves on the American Lung Association’s Health Industry Council, a group of pharmaceutical industry leaders in the lung health space.

“At Sunovion, we are focused on helping people with serious medical conditions, and patients are at the center of everything we do,” said Henry W. McMillan, leader of advocacy efforts with the Lung Association for Sunovion. “Participating in American Lung Association events allows our employees to give back in the communities in which they live and work, while reinforcing our focus on meaningful advocacy and relevant education focused on improving the lives of patients.”
