Lung Association Applauds Administration's Efforts to Address Climate Change and Impact on Public Health
(April 7, 2015) - Washington, D.C.
In response to the Obama Administration’s announcement today regarding the series of forthcoming activities that will help us better understand and combat the health impacts of climate change on communities across the country, Harold Wimmer, National President and CEO of the American Lung Association, issued the following statement:
“Too many people think climate change is something that will happen far into the future, but we are already seeing impacts on our health today. The American Lung Association applauds the Obama Administration’s effort to help people better understand the health impacts of climate change. Now is the time for bold action to protect our health and our communities from the dangerous impacts of carbon pollution and climate change – especially the health of our most vulnerable populations, children, seniors and people with chronic diseases like asthma.”
