Anne E. Dixon

Anne Dixon is currently the Director of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, and a Professor of Medicine at the University of Vermont.  She is originally from England, and moved to the United States after completing medical school at Oxford University.  She completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, and Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, before joining the faculty at the University of Vermont.

Her research career has focused clinical and translational studies in human asthma.  Her research group has been particularly focused on understanding the mechanisms linking obesity and asthma, and the role of other co-morbidities such as sinusitis in the development of allergic airway disease. She has served as the PI of a multi-center trial on chronic sinonasal disease in asthma conducted by the American Lung Association-Airways Clinical Research Centers network.
