Coordinator, Southern Colorado Clean Cities (CO #1718-35)
The American Lung Association has a great opportunity for a Coordinator, Southern Colorado Clean Cities to join our incredible team in the Southwest Region. Working as a member Programs Team, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, through research, education and advocacy.
In this role, you will be responsible running and developing the Southern Colorado Clean Cities Coalition. You will consult frequently with the Southern Colorado Clean Cities Coalition board, stakeholders, funders, and work to expand the Coalition's influence through the advocacy of petroleum reduction, management of programs, and expansion of technical literacy related to transportation issues. Ensure the Department of Energy deliverables are met and coordinate subcontractor or grant deliverables associated with new and existing projects related to Clean Cities.
- Maintain coalition status through coordination of all required activities and deliverables to the NETL contract, including alternative fuel price report, annual petroleum displacement report, monthly regional calls, and duties outlined in DOE contract with direction and oversight from the Clean Cities Manager.
- Grow and improve coalition metrics, reporting, and operating processes.
- Design and implement new programs in response to stakeholder demand.
- Accomplish energy coaching targets and goals established through the Refuel Colorado Fleets Program.
- Coordinate new programs or projects with assistance from the Clean Cities Manager.
- Pursue new revenue streams, including programmatic sponsorships, grants, and partnership opportunities.
- Responsible for managing monthly newsletter content and distribution.
- Provide technical and educational presentations to community groups, businesses, conferences, or meetings.
- Maintain and build coalition network and distribution lists.
- Network with relevant organizations, potential funders, and programmatic partners to communicate ALAC and SC4's mission and programs.
- Maintain and develop content for the Southern Colorado Clean Cities Coalition website.
- Design, coordinate, and conduct public education, promotion, and marketing by creation of educational materials (brochures, flyers, fact sheets).
- Plan, and organize coalition events, including quarterly stakeholder meetings, National Drive Electric Week, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and others with oversight and guidance from the Clean Cities Manager.
- Identify new event or partnership opportunities.
- Participate and partner in relevant conferences, workshops, events.
- Serve as a reliable and neutral resource for technical analysis, information, case studies, and other relevant knowledge to community leaders, fleet managers, and the general public regarding the Clean Cities technology portfolio.
- Learn and develop alternative fuel fleet analysis techniques. Identify and develop fleet analysis opportunities.
- Participate in continuous learning opportunities and stay up to date on market developments.
- Maintain and build SC4's reputation as an alternative fuel expert.
- Develop market for alternative fuels and vehicles by identifying project opportunities, overcoming market barriers, fostering public/private partnerships, and networking.
- Interface with Southern Colorado Clean Cities Coalition board members to ensure strategic direction of Clean Cities Coalition.
- Recruit new Clean Cities Coalition stakeholders, board members, and cultivate current stakeholders for increased retention.
- Conduct targeted outreach to fleets in order to increase petroleum displacement numbers.
- Participate in relevant discussions with organizations and associations located throughout SC4's territory.
- Travel SC4 territory in order to reach stakeholders and build relationships throughout the state.
- Bachelor's degree in health education, public policy, environmental studies, or related field.
- Experience working in non-profit setting on program development and management, education and outreach, and advocacy.
- Knowledge of air quality issues as well as alternative fuels is preferred.
- Must have at least 1 year of demonstrated experience with petroleum reduction measures in transportation and familiarity with the Department of Energy Clean Cities Program.
- Experience with budget management, generating reports, liaising with federal agencies, logistical coordination of stakeholder groups, meetings, agendas and minutes is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- A problem-solver with leadership experience
- Valid driver's license and daily access to a vehicle for field work.
- Flexibility in dealing with organizational growth and change.
