Temporary Development Coordinator (WA #1718-136)

The American Lung Association has a great opportunity for a Temporary Development Coordinator to join our incredible team in the Mountain Pacific Region. Working alongside members of the Development Team, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission:  to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, through research, education, and advocacy.

In this role, you will work with American Lung Association staff to promote and execute signature fundraising events and activities across the Greater Seattle area, specifically focusing on Reach the Beach Washington and Climb For Clean Air. This is a temporary full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Reach the Beach Washington
    • Help build event and ALA awareness in WA
    • Be a member of the development team, and hold responsibility for local grassroots outreach, including bike shop relationships, community calendars, booth opportunities, and cycle gym relationships
    • Help increase followers of Reach the Beach cycling based in WA
    • Work with event staff to develop RAM plans
    • Monitor RAM plans and execute assigned tasks
    • Execute scheduled communication management via phone and email
    • Assist in event preparation (sponsor support, local logistics as needed)
  • Climb For Clean Air
    • Logistics support for pre and post event
    • Be a member of the development team, and hold responsibility for local grassroots outreach, including gear shops and climbing gyms
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or directly related field preferred
  • One or two years of fundraising experience with proven experience recruiting and coordinating volunteers preferred
  • Superb organizational and time management skills with an excellent attention to detail and independent follow-through in a fast paced environment
  • Strong computer skills with website communication, social media and database systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Familiarity with InDesign  and Convio helpful
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player with a positive attitude; comfortable working with all levels of staff
  • Flexibility to work occasional irregular hours, including evenings and weekends with some overnights possible
  • Must hold a valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. (event supplies)
