Program Manager (PA #1718-61)

The American Lung Association has a great opportunity for a Program Manager to join our incredible team in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Working as a member Program / Mission Team, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, through research, education and advocacy.
In this role, you will be responsible for educating tobacco control advocates and community leaders on prominent tobacco issues in Pennsylvania. This is a grant-funded position.
- Oversee the administration of the grant funds, management of subcontracts, preparation of monthly budget invoicing, and supervision of direct reports.
- Oversee progress and ensure goals and deliverables are met for all activities in the North Central, South Central and North-Eastern PA work statements.
- Administer and analyze results from assessments to identify recommendations for overall improvement.
- Provide support services to the Tobacco Control Team Staff and aid in accomplishing grant deliverables.
- Assume responsibility for mobilizing grant projects (trainings, presentations, education health fairs, etc.) and serve as the liaison for these activities. Fulfill the obligations of the grant scope of work.
- Excel in coalition member relations, establish and maintain community partnerships; assist in coalition development and training; and ensure goals and objectives as designated in the grants are achieved.
- Provide support for annual report, awards, grants and other activities assigned. Support grant writing efforts.
- Support Development, Advocacy and Research initiatives of the Association.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in public health or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and implementing community awareness, education, and programs specifically related to areas of public health.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills both written and oral. Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
- Broad based experience in publicity, fundraising and grant management.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Able to work with minimum direct supervision, make decisions, and take initiative.
- Ability to effectively manage time and multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and respond to inquiries in a timely manner is essential.
- Proven ability to cultivate and steward relationships across a diverse population.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Required to travel for meetings and conferences as required by the grant.
- Ability to lift approximately 25 lbs. when assisting with local events.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends with some overnights required. Must have a valid Driver’s license.
