Supporting Survivors Today and Every Day

survivor_hands_gEvery year on the first Sunday of June, local events are organized throughout the country in support of cancer survivors. National Cancer Survivor Day® is a celebration and rally of support for survivors. It's also a day to promote resources, research and survivor-friendly legislation to improve the quality of life for all those who have faced cancer.
Life after cancer can bring new challenges. At the American Lung Association, we're committed to defeating lung cancer and supporting those affected by this disease, even after treatment. Whether you're looking for ways to stay healthy, need resources and support or want to help others facing lung cancer, we can help.

Lung Cancer Navigator

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide the best support and information to lung cancer patients, our lung cancer resources have been assembled in one, easy-to-use online portal. Lung.org/lung-cancer is a user-friendly lung cancer hub and navigator that houses all of our trusted tools and resources—treatment guides, educational videos, support communities and much more—all ready to help guide you through your lung cancer journey.

Lung Cancer Survivors Community

Sometimes you just need someone to talk to. Our Lung Cancer Survivors Community on Inspire helps you connect with others and provides peer-to-peer support for those affected by lung cancer. You can ask questions, join discussions in the communities, upload photos and search for specific topics to find other members who share the same interests.

Get Involved With LUNG FORCE

Survivors continue to inspire and encourage us every day to raise our voices for lung health. If lung cancer has touched your life in any way, you can share your story as a LUNG FORCE Hero, to give others courage, and help raise awareness about the importance of lung cancer screening and early detection.
From LUNG FORCE Expos to Walks, there are plenty of ways to get involved with LUNG FORCE events across the country. Find an event near you to help raise awareness and support for lung health.

Lung Cancer Research

Lung cancer remains the #1 cancer killer of both women and men. Research is the key to early detection and better treatment options, which can provide a better and longer future for those living with lung cancer. With the help of funding and research grants, the American Lung Association Research Team and their colleagues worldwide have made significant contributions to the field of lung cancer. Progress in research funding must continue toward finding better treatments and early detection methods for diseases and conditions that impact Americans, including lung cancer.

Your Voice Matters

The crucial fight to defeat lung cancer depends on our advocacy for much-needed resources and policies. We advocate to ensure that people living with lung cancer and lung cancer survivors have access to healthcare, without worry about losing their coverage due to a pre-existing condition. Help us advocate by asking your local representatives to support lifesaving policies that will help those impacted by lung cancer. You can also join our Lung Action Network to get notified of opportunities to contact your federal and state elected officials and other key decision makers.

Patient Resources

Get what you need to stay organized and prepared during and after lung cancer treatment, including our lung cancer treatment organizer worksheet, top five questions for your lung cancer doctor and links trusted resources to find information about getting health insurance, financial assistance, clinical trials and transportation assistance.

Life after treatment has its own battles, but we are here to help. Survivors inspire us every day to continue to work toward a world free of lung disease.

We are proud to celebrate LUNG FORCE Heroes today, on National Cancer Survivors Day. Your strength and hope are an inspiration to all those affected by lung cancer! #NCSD2017
