ALERT: Fraudulent email

It has been brought to our attention that some individuals may have received an email that appeared to come from the American Lung Association’s Asthma Educator Institute requesting bank account information in order to complete an electronic funds transfer.
Please be advised this email was not sent from the American Lung Association and was a scam. It appears the message was sent from a person or entity which intentionally guised this message in an attempt to obtain bank account information. Do not share your bank account information in response to this message. If you replied to this message with account information, please contact your banking institution immediately and ask to speak to their fraud department.
We are working with our technology vendor to implement additional safeguards so as to minimize the chance of similar incidents occurring in the future. The American Lung Association will never ask for confidential information over email and exclusively uses secure online transaction forms for anything that could be considered privileged information.
Your personal information is of utmost importance to us. Please rest assured that any personal information that you may have provided to the American Lung Association has not been compromised and is kept securely.
